Building An Army of Social Advocates

Al Quintana of The Digital Raindance
 chairs the social media committee
for the U.S. Army South Florida Advisory Board

In all volunteer military, education and awareness are keys to successful recruiting. I'm proud to have played a key role four years ago in helping the U.S. Army go from third to first in military branch awareness in the South Florida area. The grassroots community campaign that ensued from formal research efforts of more than 1,000 local influencers included the establishment of a community advisory board and award-winning social media initiatives. As we honor Veterans on this special 11-11-11 Veteran's Day, I wanted to highlight the outstanding social media initiatives that are helping the U.S. Army engage potential new recruits by providing insightful, accurate information about Army careers via personal soldier experiences. Local social media platforms also enable recruiters to interact with potential recruits and share both events and experiences. These new digital platforms have transformed the way our Army and all armed forces branches build the finest military in the world. Thank you for your service and all that you do to keeping our country safe and FREE!
